Company History

C & R Industrial was founded in 1978 by Claire and Ron Sowers. The company focused on super and standard abrasives as a distributor.

In 1982, a second company was formed under the name of Kwetu Ceramics; focusing on machining and grinding tight tolerances ceramics machining for the semiconductor industry.

In 1992, C&R Industrial purchased the industrial saw machine line and all assets from Felker Dresser Industries and became an Original Equipment Manufacturer. Since the time of the purchase, the machines have been modified and improved with our own engineering staff to meet and exceed our customer's requirements including, turn key automated CNC sawing machinery.

In 1996, the companies were merged under the Sowers Dia-Met name. At which time Sowers Dia-Met also began manufacturing industrial diamond cutting tools.

Sowers Dia-Met makes the diamond tooling for cutting and grinding of Quartz, Pyrex, Ferrite, Carbide, all types of glass, honey comb ceramics, refractory, and many other materials.
